Israeli politics has entered a new era, with a major shift in its political leadership. Some liberal-leaning Israelis have claimed the new government will help to institute peace with Palestine. However, others have pointed out that the Israeli government will remain violent against Palestinians at its core. A case in point is the fact that Israel’s new government has already approved a march by far-right Israeli nationalists and pro-settler groups through occupied East Jerusalem’s Old City. Several right-wing Israeli groups are set to participate in a so-called “March of the Flags” through the walled Old City’s Damascus Gate and into its Muslim quarter on Tuesday, June 15.

Zeiad Abbas, Executive Director of the Middle East Children’s Alliance, joins us to report on the aftermath and impact of the recent Israeli-Palestinian war and the end of the Netanyahu era. What, if anything, will change in Israeli-Palestinian relations?

The labor union UNITE HERE Local 11 based in California and Arizona will join CASE Action, Black Voters Matter and others in a freedom ride from Phoenix, Arizona, to Washington, D.C., to oppose the attack on voting rights and to press for passage of the For the People Act. Our guests are Susan Minato, Co-President of UNITE HERE Local 11, which represents more than 30,000 workers in the hospitality industry in Southern California and Arizona, and Marilyn Wilbur, a hospitality worker, a union member and a voting rights advocate.

Minneapolis resident and activist Marcia Howard will give us the latest on the killing of Deona Knajdek, a mother of two who died when a car rammed into protesters this past Sunday. Protesters had gathered to demand justice and transparency in the police killing of Winston Smith, who died on June 3. This follows the April 11 police killing of Daunte Wright in Minneapolis.
